Job description: Are you ready to make a difference? Chandler Macleod are seeking an experienced Planning Officer to join our client based in Melbourne CBD for a full time temporary role until February 2025
Join a high-performing team dedicated to delivering key government priorities and reforming the building system to ensure safe, quality buildings for Victorians.Key Accountabilities
- Lead or contribute to the development and evaluation of innovative policy options and projects
- Provide authoritative, evidence-based advice to Ministers and executives on complex building policy issues.
- Conduct research and prepare high-quality reports, regulations, discussion papers, and briefings.
- Build and manage effective relationships with stakeholders across government, industry, and consumer groups to influence and gain support for initiatives.
- Maintain awareness of international and national building policy trends and their implications for Victoria.
- Collaborate across the business to deliver departmental priorities and initiatives.
Key Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience as a policy or planning officer with strong understanding of Building policy
- A tertiary qualification in law, public policy, economics, or a related discipline (highly desirable).
- Demonstrated experience in developing and amending legislation and/or regulations in a state or Commonwealth public service setting
