Our client is a national, full-service transport and logistics company. With a core focus on same-day transport, the company has grown from 60 to 600 employees over the past two decades.Role Overview:
We are seeking a Data Analyst to support data-related responsibilities, process improvement, and business reporting. Acting as a Second-in-Command (2IC), this role will involve SQL and Power BI work, improving documentation, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving in a consultative environment.Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as 2IC to assist in data-related responsibilities and team support.
  • Perform hands-on work in SQL, Power BI, and Excel to analyze and visualize data.
  • Improve documentation and enhance internal processes.
  • Develop project plans and provide business analysis support.
  • Balance 80% data analysis with 20% stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to bridge data and operational needs.
  • Support customer configurations previously handled by the software engineering team.

Technical Requirements:

  • Excel:
  • Analyze datasets, create pivot summaries and charts.
  • Utilize lookups and DAX for geographic and delivery analysis.
  • Perform time-series plotting using a secondary Y-axis.
  • SQL Server:
  • Extract and structure data from relational databases.
  • Write complex queries with joins, subqueries, and CTEs.
  • Develop parametrized stored procedures for reporting.
  • Power BI:
  • Design, create, and troubleshoot data models, measures, and reports.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting for business stakeholders.
  • Implement DAX measures to compare customer spend trends.

Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Experience in data/reporting projects with multiple tasks and stakeholders.
  • Assist in project scoping, planning, and timeline management.
  • Example projects:
  • Migrating Excel-based reports to Power BI.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define data transformation processes.
  • Ensuring timely project completion and communication of updates.
