A new headspace centre will open in Oran Park in south-west Sydney in 2025.
headspace is the primary national platform for young people aged 12-25 years old who are experiencing, or at risk of, mild to moderate mental illness.
headspace provides care in four key areas – mental health, related physical and sexual health, alcohol and other drug support, and vocational services.
headspace Oran Park will be located in one of the fastest growing areas in Australia and will offer free wrap around support to young people living across the Camden region.
In 2023-24, the Albanese Government is investing over $290 million in the headspace program.
There are currently 160 headspace services operating nationally, with commitments to grow the network to 173 by 2025-26
headspace Oran Park has been commissioned by the South Western Sydney Primary Health Network and will be operated by Grand Pacific Health
This headspace service in Oran Park will mean young people in the Camden region can access support as quickly as possible.
The service will be centrally located and easily accessible by walking, car and public transport.
As part of the 2024-25 Budget the Albanese Government is providing additional funding of $27.1 million to the ECP. Supporting up to 1500 student and 150 graduate placements across the headspace network by December 2026.
Extending the ECP will boost the workforce and support services to meet increased demand across the headspace network.
