Innovation and collaboration drive us to exceed expectations, guided by a whole-of-company mindset.An Exciting Opportunity Awaits!TEG Life Like Touring is looking for a Technical Swing with a focus on Audio and Video to be responsible for the installation, implementation, and operation of all related systems for the upcoming Australian tour of Gabby’s Dollhouse Live!Contract Position: Weekly Fee + Per Diems (when applicable), all accommodation and travel provided (when away from home base).All candidates must be Melbourne-based and available for all rehearsal and national tour dates from 19th February 2025 up to/around 29th April 2025.About TEG Life Like TouringTEG Life Like Touring has produced hit shows and experiences for some of the world’s most popular entertainment brands for over 10 years, including PAW Patrol, Disney, Pixar, Peppa Pig, Sesame Street, Dora the Explorer, among countless worldwide entertainment brands. TEG Life Like tours and experiences have been enjoyed by millions across Australia, New Zealand, North America, Europe, Africa, South America and the Middle East.The RoleThe Employee shall perform all services customarily rendered by the Technical Swing Audio/Video of a first-class musical stage play (of the same quality and calibre as a Broadway/West End musical). Without limitation, the following employee duties shall include:
- Directly liaising with and reporting to the Touring Lighting Systems Technician, Touring Video Systems Technician, Head of Audio for load-ins and outs and performances. At all other times, assisting with other departments as necessary to ensure the smooth running of the production.
- Assist with the load-in and manage the setup of the video wall and video system.
- Ensure the proper signal processing of the video and media content.
- Ensure the control network is operating correctly and make any adjustments as necessary to ensure operation.
- Assist to ensure the load-in and load-out processes run according to schedule as they relate to the audio-visual requirements of the production.
- Act as radio microphone technician for performances, including the fitting and maintenance of microphones.
- Problem-solve radio microphone issues as required to ensure the smooth running of performances.
- Ensure contingency plans are in place for failure of any component of the video and sound package of the show and implement as needed.
- Adherence to Venue OH&S requirements to support the safety of Cast, Crew, and Audience in every circumstance in every venue.
- Ensure reporting of operating issues and concerns to the CSM to ensure accuracy of reporting.
- Personally report to TEG Life Like Touring any issues that need further input.
- Incorporate TEG Life Like Touring values of Positivity, Persistence, Creativity, Responsibility, and Flexibility into all interactions with other Life Like Touring Staff, Artists, and Clients.
- Actively participate in matters and activities relating to Occupational Health and Safety, including compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Attendance at all compulsory education, training, and meeting sessions.
- Other duties as directed.

- Excellent knowledge of video system protocols and procedures, electrical safety, signal flow, and equipment configuration.
- Good knowledge of audio system protocols and procedures, signal flow, and equipment configuration.
- Extensive experience operating a variety of audio and video equipment.
- A knowledge of QLab control software.
- Capable of carrying out manual handling tasks and comfortable working at heights, and able to lift 25kg loads unencumbered.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of “performance” etiquette, including a comprehensive knowledge of theatre traditions, protocol, and terminology.
- Demonstrate an understanding of lighting and audio plans and documentation.
- Possess a comprehensive general knowledge of electricity and safety procedures, testing and tagging, and workplace safety protocols.
- Exhibit excellent organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to work with creative and technical personnel and performers.
- Ability to work under pressure, using tact, diplomacy, and flexibility.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold a license to operate a motor vehicle and/or an Elevated Work Platform ticket. Candidates for this role must ensure that they are entitled to legally work in Australia, and proof of citizenship or eligibility may be requested.
