Please refer to position descriptionPosition DetailsTHE ROLEThe Interstate Liaison Team Manager is responsible for consulting with interstate and international Child Protection agencies to support the care and protection of children who are subject to child protection intervention. The Team Manager (Interstate Liaison) supports effective service delivery, managing resources and budget, allocation of interstate requests, and supervision of a team of specialist Interstate Liaison Officers (ILOs). The position will work collaboratively with the Interstate Liaison Program Manager, ILOs, Divisional and interstate Child Protection staff, to strengthen case practice and to support coordination of multi-jurisdictional statutory interventions.The Team Manager (Interstate Liaison) supports the implementation of the Interstate Child Protection Protocol (October 2021, the Interstate Child Protection Warrants Protocol, the Children, Youth and Families Act, 2005 (Schedule 1), the Child Wellbeing Act, 2005, the Information Sharing Protocol between the Commonwealth and Child Protection Agencies, 2009, and the 1996 Hague Convention.The role requires an operational and strategic approach to ensure highly responsive, specialist advice and consultation, for Victorian and interstate Child Protection agencies, which promotes the safeguarding of children, and coordinated service delivery for children and families across jurisdictions. The Team Manager (Interstate Liaison) coordinates complex stakeholder engagement, promotes effective partnerships, and contributes to the strategic planning and reforms at state and national levels.You will possess an understanding of Aboriginal culture and demonstrate an understanding of the legislative, policy and practice requirements relating to Aboriginal children, families, and communities, including the Aboriginal Child Placement Principle and the programs and initiatives that support its implementation in child protection practice.HOW TO APPLYAll VPS employees (and ex-VPS employees with extended access to the Jobs and Skills Exchange website) MUST apply via the (JSE)
