About the Role
As a Strategy Implementation Manager within the Office of the Provost (OP), you’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the University to plan, manage, and deliver strategic projects sitting under the Advancing Students and Education (ASE) Strategy at the University of Melbourne.The ASE strategy aims to enhance education and broader the student experience through curriculum improvements, innovative teaching and learning practices, learning technologies and spaces, student well-being, amplifying student voice, enhancing support services, and promoting inclusivity.Your primary project focuses on increasing student engagement with learning on campus through a range of approaches and initiatives. It will involve working closely with the OP Executive, Faculties, SASS, and Business Services to explore how we can adapt subject designs and adopt innovative teaching practices to enhance students’ in-class learning experiences through projects. You’ll be responsible for project planning, developing project materials, and carrying out other project tasks and activities.Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the design, implementation and evaluation of major strategic projects within the Office of the Provost portfolio
- Developing and monitoring project plans, including scope, timelines, and governance structures
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align project activities, conduct needs analyses, and support staff impacted by projects
- Conduct research, benchmarking and other analyses to inform initiatives and decision making
Who we are looking for
We are seeking an experienced Implementation Manager with a strong understanding of the University’s teaching and learning, timetabling, and/or student services and support environment. You will be skilled in building relationships, communicating effectively, and adapting information for different audiences and purposes.Experience engaging students and understanding their learning materials in a higher education classroom setting is preferred.Your background could include experience as a project manager with lecturing experience in higher education, or you may have designed and implemented complex projects within higher education or a similar organisation, with strong expertise in policy design and student advisory services.You will also have:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of successful, strategic-level project management in a complex higher education setting
- Expertise in stakeholder management to achieve organisational objectives, including listening, engaging, analysing, adapting, and problem-solving
- Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, synthesise broad data and analyse at a detailed level
- Excellent judgement, able to anticipate needs, perceive interconnections and implications of developments relevant to own work and able to identify and manage dependencies across a portfolio of work
