These environments must deliver capability and performance that is aligned to business expectation of service levels, compliance and risk. This involves proactive management and continuous improvement of all databases and related environments, including uplift for project delivery.You’ll join an innovative and collaborative team who support critical systems in a 24×7 on call capacity.As our SQL Database Engineer, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.Day-to-day, you will:· Manage availability of production/test/development SQL Server databases to meet or exceed agreed SLAs· Monitor/manage system’s health and performance ahead of expected business growth· SQL server/database changes transitioning to production meet all support/operational requirements, including security credentials appropriate for prod environment· Ensure all SQL server configuration and database accesses granted comply to company security requirements or PCI & PII standards· Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes· Improve system monitoring· Leadership of Technical problem management activities· Perform 24×7 on-call duties on a rostered basisThis role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:· Demonstrated ability to show thought leadership and drive solutions to complex technical problems· Expert in server database administrator functions, including performance tuning, DB backup and recovery, capacity planning, replication, high availability, monitoring using SQL Server Management.· Experience in SQL database support of mission critical systems· Experience analysing & documenting database configurations and operational processes· Experience in logging, tracking and escalating incidents· Extensive experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining high availability databases.· Extensive experience in Microsoft SQL server environments (2014, 2016, 2019), with Always on Availibility Groups, clustering, database mirroring.· Advanced skills in the Windows Server.· Microsoft SQL Certification· Experience in managing & supporting AWS SQL PaaS RDS instances, databases and EC2 servers.· Experience in database replication technologies (eg Qlik/Attunity)· Experience with ServiceNow / Jira· Experience engaging with vendors, and managing outcomes· Computer Science or related tertiary degree· ITIL Certification· Knowledge of Agile Methodology·If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.With a career at Transurban, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits, including:· A range of flexible working and leave options, including the option to purchase an additional six weeks of leave each year· 16 weeks paid parental leave (regardless of gender or carer status), with no waiting period, with Superannuation paid during unpaid leave as well· Learning and development opportunities to support your career interests· Health and wellbeing support—access to Headspace and our EAP program, wellness facilities, and more· Share offers and insurance benefits· Social activities, community give-back programs and paid volunteer daysWe offer a range of flexible working and leave options, so you can balance your work and life commitments and interests.
