Under the direction of the Manager of the Social Work Department, the following services are provided:Social WorkSocial Work aims to identify and address the psychosocial impacts of illness and hospitalisation for patients and their families by providing a range of services that increase the quality of life and participation in care. Social Work also assists patients and their families transition smoothly from hospital to home.The RoleExciting Full-Time Opportunity for an Experienced Gr 3 Social Worker at Alfred Hospital – Fixed Term Until December 2025Join a dedicated team in the Trauma Social Work Service at Alfred Hospital and make a real difference in the lives of patients and their families. We’re seeking an experienced Social Worker (Grade 3) with advanced skills and hospital experience to provide crucial support in the Trauma Service, offering client-centred care through counselling, advocacy, and guidance throughout the patient journey. As part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team, you’ll play a key role in conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments, coordinating safe discharge plans, and ensuring continuity of care.
