  • Salary – $165,011 – $195,951 (plus 15.4% superannuation)

The teamThe Strategic Surveillance and Data team drive proactive surveillance across the Regulation and Supervision Group, leading complex investigations, group-wide activities, and sector specific projects. The team supervises financial institutions with significant consumer impact, addressing consumer and market risks through an institutional supervision approach.The roleAs a Senior Manager, you will lead a team to deliver proactive, data-driven supervisory outcomes, driving complex surveillance activities and collaborating across projects to ensure effective sector-specific compliance.More specifically, you will:

  • Proactively identify and address regulatory issues to promote consumer protection and sector-wide compliance, leveraging ASIC’s regulatory intelligence.
  • Lead complex surveillance activities, including scoping, planning, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement to assess compliance and industry practices.
  • Develop and deliver supervision strategies for large financial institutions, ensuring effective oversight and risk management.
  • Drive best practice and innovation in surveillance, enhancing methodologies with data analytics and regulatory insights.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to strengthen regulatory outcomes.

About youYou have an extensive background in a regulatory setting, having conducted large scale surveillance work. Ideally you would have a deep understanding of Australian financial services (including banking), markets, and their regulatory requirements. Your experience would include exposure to regulatory compliance, operations and risk management in either a professional services and or public sector setting.Naturally you are a strong people orientated leader with experience guiding high-performing teams, offering strategic direction, and coaching for success. You excel at engaging stakeholders, managing complex and ambiguous issues, and facilitating difficult discussions with confidence.
