About You
The Senior Coordinator, Research Proposals plays a lead role in managing the delivery of pre-award services to support researchers with the preparation and submission of their competitive funding applications. The role provides expertise and authoritative advice on national and international funding opportunities, researcher eligibility and grant guidelines, and ensures RMIT’s applications are compliant with all funder and university requirements. The Senior Coordinator assists the Manager in building a high-performing and effective team through mentoring and staff development, and contributes to work allocation, planning and process improvement.To be successful in this position, you’ll have as a minimum:
- Significant experience in research grant administration, including excellent knowledge of a broad range of national and international funding schemes.
- Strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team to deliver excellent customer service within a complex, multi-tiered organisation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including editing and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in using research management systems (or similar) and the ability to adopt new information technology tools to improve business processes and services.
- Excellent organisational skills, including proven ability to maintain accuracy and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated history of behaviour aligned to the RMIT values and professional/leadership
- Experience assisting academic staff to prepare budgets that are compliant with internal and external requirements would be highly regarded.
