If you’re passionate about leading innovative projects, preserving collections, and collaborating with a dynamic team to make history and technology collections accessible and impactful, this role could be your next great adventure!ABOUT THE POSITION:This pivotal role is responsible for leading and implementing a variety of collection management activities within the History & Technology Department. You’ll focus on enhancing collection access and preservation, managing digital assets and rights, and ensuring successful project delivery through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you’ll manage and mentor team members while occasionally overseeing contract staff to achieve impactful outcomes.Some of the key duties include:
- Leading projects to preserve and enhance access to social history and technology collections.
- Leveraging expertise in collection management systems like KE EMu, MVWISE, and digital asset tools.
- Plan and deliver projects using strong project management principles.
- Collaborating with stakeholders and fostering a culture of growth and excellence within the team.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE:
- Extensive experience in museum collection management and systems like KE EMu and MVWISE, and familiarity with digital asset management systems (DAMs) and digital archiving systems (MV Records).
- Proven ability to deliver complex projects aligned with organisational goals.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and communication abilities.
- While a tertiary qualification in Museum Studies, History, or another humanities discipline is desirable, it is not essential for this role.
OTHER INFORMATION:This is a VPS4, full-time, ongoing position. The salary offered is $ $92,332 based on grade (pro rata) + 11.5% superannuation.
