As a team, we value technical craftsmanship, continuous learning, and a strong sense of ownership, working together to build scalable, reliable, and secure products that empower businesses of all sizes to grow without borders.The Issuing Transactions team manages the critical card payment processing services to enable Airwallex customers to make cross-border payment to millions of suppliers worldwide in over 140 currencies, empowered by Airwallex multi-currency wallet and competitive foreign exchange rates.What You’ll DoAs a Senior Backend Engineer, you will help define and implement our team’s technical strategy to meet an evolving set of product and engineering challenges. You will take ownership of projects from conception to delivery, leading the building of APIs, workflows and data pipelines to serve our ever expanding product needs.Our team is breaking new engineering ground and we have the opportunity to define innovative solutions for a number of challenges, paving the way for other teams to follow in our footsteps. The position is a high-impact, collaborative role responsible for driving outcomes across the wider product & engineering organisation.Responsibilities:Work closely with product managers and key stakeholders to define product roadmap, prioritise projects and ship incrementally to production.Build high available low latency distributed systems with public cloud infrastructure.Support the engineering team on architecture evolution, quality improvement and engineering risk mitigation.Collaborate with cross-functional teams for operational excellence and delightful user experience.Who You AreWe’re looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.Minimum qualifications:Mastery of backend technologies.
