This is your opportunity to join a well-regarded financial institution and play a pivotal role in shaping its governance and risk management framework.About the Role:As a Senior Audit Manager in the Internal Audit (IA) Team, you will be at the forefront of developing and enhancing the third line of defence (3LOD) governance model. This is a critical role that will see you contributing to the safety, independence, and overall integrity of operations across the bank. The position focuses on auditing processes related to technology, data, and automation-areas that are vital in driving innovation and safeguarding the bank’s risk exposure.The Internal Audit Technology, Data & Automation (TDA) team is tasked with managing key risks within these areas. By using cutting-edge technology, data analytics, and automation, you will work closely with senior management and global teams to ensure business areas meet strategic objectives and stakeholder interests are safeguarded. This role will support auditing activities across an additional Australian financial institution within the group.What you’ll be doing:
- Audit Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and reporting of audit engagements across the business with a particular focus on technology, data, and automation.
- Risk Assessment: Contribute to the development of the annual Audit Plan and ensure resource allocation aligns with the risk profile of business areas.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior technology management and other stakeholders to deliver sustainable control solutions that effectively manage risk.
- Assurance & Reporting: Provide high-quality audit reports, offering assurance to management on the effectiveness of risk controls.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across the global internal audit team, leveraging your excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
What we’re looking for:To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Risk Management Expertise: Strong understanding of key risk management frameworks, operational risk, compliance, and delivery risk.
- Technology Auditing: Extensive experience leading technology-focused audits and reviewing complex technology environments, ideally within large organisations.
- Banking & Finance Knowledge: In-depth experience within the banking and financial services sector, specifically related to technology risk management would be favourable but not essential. Candidates with technology audit experience from a consulting background would be well suited, as would candidates with in house experience.
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with cloud-based environments, CI/CD pipelines, and advanced data analytics to assess and design audit controls would be highly regarded but again, not essential.
- Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to manage and lead concurrent audit teams and influence senior stakeholders across global teams, whilst also completing audit fieldwork.
