Job description: About UsCourt Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria’s courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.Collectively, Victoria’s Supreme, County, Magistrates’, Children’s, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group’.Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdictions own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities that are interconnected and deliver benefits more broadly.About the RoleCSV Finance Services is responsible for supporting the financial management functions of the Courts Group.The Senior Accountant – Accounts Receivable, Trusts and Court Support, reporting to the Manager Revenue Accounting, leads a small team providing finance support to the Courts Group including trust account management, accounts receivable, revenue and payment processing, and other administrative functions.Activities can include:

  • Month-end reconciliation and analyses, trial balance review, debtor management and the preparation of relevant notes to the Annual Financial Statements, including the application of relevant accounting standards and legislation
  • Providing expert knowledge on the operation and accounting treatment of specific purpose (trust) accounts
  • Developing, reviewing and maintaining CSVs policy and procedures relating to controlled and administered revenue and specific purpose (trust) accounts
  • Working collaboratively with Jurisdictions and finance staff to identify and apply modernised banking solution
  • Managing and mentoring junior staff within the team.

About YouWhat you will bring:

  • Expert knowledge and experience within accounts receivable, specific purpose (trust) accounts, and relevant financial systems (preferably within government)
  • Ability to critically think and problem solve, utilising evidence-based approach to inform decision making and resolve complex issues
  • Proven ability to confidently and accurately convey complex information verbally and in written communications
  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
