About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a motivated researcher to contribute to groundbreaking metabolomics projects addressing coral climate change adaptation and human pathogen drug targets. Working in a dynamic and supportive team environment, you will be part of a small, focused coral research group within a larger, collaborative team in medical research. - Conducting metabolomics research focused on host-symbiont and host-pathogen interactions, including sample preparation, data analysis, and the development of analytical workflows.
- Contributing to the preparation of research publications, proposals, and reports, while maintaining accurate data and laboratory records.
- Supporting the training and mentoring of research students and assisting with the maintenance of laboratory instruments and resources.
- Collaborating within a dynamic team environment to achieve project milestones and actively contributing to a culture of innovation and excellence.
Who We Are Looking ForWe’re seeking a collaborative and adaptable researcher with a strong analytical mindset, motivated by the opportunity to contribute to innovative metabolomics projects and thrive in a supportive team environment. You will possess strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.You will also have:
- Level A1- A5: Degree/Degree with BSc Honours or Masters or equivalent with a major in Biochemistry or a related discipline, or
- Level A6: PhD with a major in Biochemistry or a related discipline or more than 5 years relevant experience in analytical chemistry and biochemical assays
- Analytical skills with experience in biological mass spectrometry (e.g., metabolomics, lipidomics, or proteomics), chromatographic techniques, and handling large datasets
