Job description: This role is a fixed term role until 30 June 2026Shape the establishment of Early Learning Victoria and the design and delivery of the first ever Victorian Government owned and operated Early Learning and Childcare Centres.About Early Learning VictoriaThe Victorian Government is establishing 50 government-owned and operated, Early Learning and Childcare Centres, as part of the Best Start, Best Life reforms. These centres will offer childcare, Three and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten and, where applicable, Pre-Prep. The first four centres will open in 2025, with all 50 open by 2032. Early Learning Victoria has been set up as a new business unit within the Department of Education to establish and operate the centres. We are building a team of high performers who are strengths-based, compassionate, dedicated, have a good attention to detail and who adopt a continuous improvement mindset. We have a large work program ahead of us, and it will take genuine flexibility, adaptability and teamwork to achieve this ambitious reform agendaAbout the RoleThe Early Learning Victoria business management team provides recruitment, payroll and administration support to Early Learning and Childcare Centres (ELCC). As a member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting the business in day-to-day operations, recruitment, and payroll queries. You will report to the Business Management Team Leader. You will build and maintain relationships with ELCC staff, the department’s central HR division other department functions/divisions.Your duties will include

  • Support ELCCs with recruitment, HR , payroll and other business operational needs.
  • Ensure appropriate oversight and quality control in relation to HR policy and process.
  • Advise management about possible opportunities in policy, process and system reform.
  • Undertake administration of portal and other system support interfaces.

Also is able to analyse ideas available and takes action through self, or in consultation with others to resolve problems. Applies critical thinking and problem-solving concepts in the right context.
