About the role
Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) is seeking a dynamic leader to lead the implementation of the Disaster Legal Help Victoria (DLHV) strategy and service model. This role will coordinate partner agencies to respond as appropriate to future disasters.DLHV is a cross sector state-wide partnership between the Federation of Community Legal Centres, Justice Connect, the Law Institute Victoria, Victoria Legal Aid, the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service, and the Victorian Bar.You will manage legal sector volunteers, strategic engagement with emergency management agencies and other aspects of the service (including supporting local providers to prepare and respond to local need and supporting digital, phone, chat or other channels). Additionally, you will also take part in delivering statewide projects and activities.This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.About you

- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with senior government and other leaders.
- Proven track record in managing and funding programs and projects.
- Experience in implementing collaborative initiatives, focusing on improving access to justice.
- Demonstrated experience in grants management and financial oversight.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, fostering a supportive and productive environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of the legal sector and its challenges.
- Expertise in strategic project management, implementing initiatives for organisational growth.
- Relevant experience in a management position and/or similar role.
