Job description: Job Description:Guardian Australia is part of Guardian News & Media (GNM), publisher of As a leading global media organisation, we are renowned for our pioneering independent journalism and our award-winning digital products.We are seeking an Account Coordinator to support the Melbourne and SA sales team in delivering Direct Display, Programmatic, Audio and Paid Content campaigns across Guardian Australia. This is an exciting junior level position for an individual with 1-3 years of experience in sales/account coordinating, and is looking to play a significant part in a rapidly growing and high performing advertising sales team and work with one of the world’s leading news publishers.In this role you will…

  • Support the VIC account directors in their day to day workload in dealing with agencies and clients, plus support our partnerships manager on implementation
  • Assist the sales team in both pre-sales and post-sales support
  • Pre-sales support includes supporting on brief responses, creating presentations and schedules, checking inventory availability
  • Post-sales support includes entering bookings into our sales system, providing timelines and communicating clearly with clients, coordinating creative with ad operations and supporting overall to ensure campaigns go live on time and to client satisfaction
  • Input and reporting of sales activity using GAM and Salesforce (training provided) and providing reports to clients
  • Assist the sales team in delivery of campaigns which includes, liaising with clients and internal stake-holders, ensuring campaigns are delivering to plan, compiling weekly and monthly campaign reports and handling display advertising creative queries in conjunction with the Ad Operations team
  • Liaise with content producers in our branded content team (Guardian Labs) to ensure campaigns are delivered for our clients in an efficient and timely manner
  • Liaising with various internal departments, including Commercial, Product, Research and Ad Operations as well as external partners such as Acast and SeenThis.
  • Participate in brainstorms and other creative processes to generate innovative content ideas for client campaigns and proactive display activity.
  • Respond to client enquiries in a timely manner and display outstanding levels of customer service.
  • Develop programmatic knowledge together with the Programmatic Account Director and support on PMP/PG campaigns for the team
  • Create sales collateral at the direction of the VIC Account Director or VIC & SA State Sales Director to be used in market by the sales team, including go to market presentations and proactive opportunities
  • Be trained in and utilise our insights systems in order to provide insights to the sales team for their brief responses
  • Support with client events where needed

  • Working knowledge of media industry/enthusiasm for sales and marketing
  • An interest in, and understanding of the Guardian brand
  • Understanding of the editorial integrity and brand ethos of the Guardian

  • IT skills (especially MS Office, Mac, Gmail, and Google products)
