Reporting directly to the Head of PMO and Procurement, this position will lead the project delivery procurement activities across a portfolio of renewable energy projects spanning development, pre-construction and construction. As the Project Delivery (Procurement) Manager – Australia, you will play a key role in shaping and implementing Australia’s portfolio/project delivery contracting strategy(s) as well as be responsible for leading the tendering, negotiation, and award of project procurement and construction contracts.Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of project delivery contracting strategies for the Australian portfolio of projects.
- Develop and manage capital project tender processes such as Expressions of Interest (EOI), Requests for Proposals (RFP), Best and Final Offer (BAFO) to procure renewable energy products and construction services across renewable energy technologies of Wind, Solar and BESS.
- Interface with internal teams and external specialists to develop technical specifications, scope of works and performance requirements into a suite of procurement tender documents.
- Actively lead and negotiate procurement agreements with third parties to secure amenable terms to the company
- Co-ordinate with internal and external teams to compile awarded Procurement and Construction agreements
- Identify and define the interface risk between third party agreements for transfer and management by the project management team.
- Manage construction vendor selection and appointment, such as Owners Engineer, independent Engineer, HSE specialists etc.
- Establish local procurement policies, protocols, and templates in accordance with global corporate requirements.
- Maintain the currency of procurement documentation to regulatory, legal and industry standards
- Support the Head of PMO & Procurement to establish and maintain beneficial relationships with key OEM’s and construction contractors.
- Consult with senior management in Australia and Globally on all procurement activities.
- Support the origination team with Procurement Market data for third party project acquisitions, energy off-takes, contract revenue streams, and debt financing.

Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseThe successful candidate will need to possess:
- Formal qualifications in Procurement/supply Chain, Project Management, or similar
- Proven Capital Infrastructure Project Procurement experience of at least 5 years, preferably with renewable energy projects
- Excellent communications skills: written and oral that crosses all levels of stakeholders.
Knowledge
- Have knowledge of procedural, operational and legislative requirements in the application of tender documentation
- Good understanding of how procurement drives an investment decision
- A good understanding of the energy industry, with a particular focus on renewable energy
Experience
- Experience preparing and managing capital project tenders, negotiation of contracts, and co-ordination of contract compilation.
- Experience in development and/or construction, preferably in the renewable energy space
