The DepartmentThe Pharmacy services operate across all Alfred Health sites and are well recognised nationally and internationally for
high quality, innovative, patient-focused services, education and training programmes as well as significant research
output. The Pharmacy Department also plays a pivotal role in managing the electronic medication management system within our comprehensive electronic medical record (Cerner), with an advanced level of integration linking this to the Pharmacy Dispensing (iPharmacy) and Automated Medication Storage systems (Omnicell). This is complemented by a strong clinical presence and a Centre for Medicine Use and Safety program to achieve a considered, safe and financially responsible approach to medication management within Alfred Heath.The Pharmaceutical Management team within the Pharmacy Services Department at Alfred Health is dedicated to the
procurement, distribution, and governance of medication supply across all Alfred Health sitesThe RoleA Procurement and Inventory Technician will perform the following activities including, but not limited to:
- Procurement
- Inventory Management – Stores
- Inventory Managemetn – Ward
- Drug Distribution
The successful applicant will be part of an enthusiastic and motivated team to ensure the above activities are performed at all sites across the organisation. Rotation through these team activities will lead to a comprehensive understanding of the medication management supply portfolio within a public hospital setting.Experience and Qualifications RequiredRequired
- Excellent communication skills and team building skills
- Able to prioritise workload efficiently in a demanding environment
- Intermediate computer skills
- Fast learner
- Able to identify improvements and demonstrate initiative
Desirable
- Previous store and stock control experience
- Project management skills desirable
- Experience with i.Pharmacy Computer System
- Hospital pharmacy experience
- Experience in procurement, forecasting, planning and warehousing environment
