Canberra’s BOOST Recovery Program has taken home the Pinnacles Pain Sector Award for Most Impactful Innovation in Pain Care.
Headed up by Founder & Managing Director, Tina McIntosh, BOOST Recovery is a market-leading pain recovery program.
“We are delighted to have our life-changing program recognised by PainAustralia and Pain Foundation. We pride ourselves on thinking differently in the way we work with health professionals, technology and data to help people in pain recovery. Chronic pain is a huge problem that is often underacknowledged, despite affecting an estimated one in five people nationally,” said Ms McIntosh.
“When it comes to musculoskeletal pain, the science says that everyone can be pain free – it just takes the right team, the right tools and time. The BOOST Recovery Program is structured around these three elements.”
“When a person starts with us, they’re matched up 1:1 with a registered Allied Health professional who is both an expert pain practitioner and a highly trained Pain Coach. The program is personalised to the individual based on their medical history, life circumstances and the data they generate using our app.”
Developed in 2019, the BOOST Recovery Program is a patient-centric, virtual care clinical program utilising a unique system originally designed by Ms McIntosh to recover from her own chronic pain. This system now lives inside the Brain Changer app.
Delivered via telehealth across Australia, in collaboration with pain specialists, and major insurers and businesses, BOOST Recovery supports people in their return to work and other valued activities, getting them back to living a ‘big life’.
BOOST Recovery has achieved significant clinical outcomes against national benchmarks for pain program performance (ePOCC), exceeding the national benchmarks across the board. It is also very highly regarded by consumers, with a Net Promoter Score of 97%.
“We have discovered that the best way to help our clients recover from pain is to tailor our program to embrace their individuality. Our clients tell us that they love working with our pain coaches because they feel seen and heard, and are finally getting the help they need.”
The inaugural Pinnacles Pain Australia awards were held at NSW Parliament House on 8 May 2024 and brought together over 150 pain businesses, practitioners, people with lived experience, ministers and advocates to recognise excellence in pain care.
