Predictions NSW could have more summer blackouts



The New South Wales Premier has given his strongest hint yet the government will pay to keep Australia’s biggest coal-fired power station open. Chris Minns says if the Eraring facility closes as planned next year, energy supplies will fall, and that prices will rise. Experts say the state’s been too slow to build sources of renewables to bridge the gap.
