We are committed to your professional growth, offering robust career development opportunities within one of the world’s most respected organisations.An exciting career opportunity has become available for a passionate Plant Manager in Development, reporting through to the Plant General Manager, Brooklyn, and working closely across the key Buy, Make & Sell functional areas as well as with Innovation, FSQA, HR/Safety, Sustainability & Engineering leads. This role is designed to accelerate and broaden Management and Operational competency, in preparation for future potential appointment to Plant Management or other suitable role/s.You will be developed in this position from your base location of Brooklyn, and need to be available to travel to other Southern Plants as required. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong drive for operational excellence. This exciting role will have the following key responsibilities with the successful candidate able to demonstrate competence across all key selection criteria.Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Work with the GM, Operations Southern, and the broader Southern Operations team to;
- Assist in effectively managing of all aspects of plant operations and achieving site throughput targets whilst maintaining emphasis on food safety, product specifications, WH&S and employee/industrial relations.
- Assist with KPI benchmarking, including attending Plant review meetings, to ensure understanding of the importance of consistent process and product recovery performance outcomes across all Plant operations.
- Implement process improvement, initially focused on process consistency across sites, including technology application to ensure beef/small stock processing best practice outcomes are delivered to JBS Australia.
- Reviewing financial performance of establishments including capital expenditure planning and cost controls.
- Actively engaging with HR Managers in succession planning for operational roles and initiatives to address attendance and retention and be involved in Human Resource and Industrial Relations issues.
- Ensure professional and effective communication with AQIS around Sight Incident Reports.
- Meet all requirements relating to Quality, WH&S and Environmental Management.
- Undertake projects and activities as directed by the GM of Operations, including relieving as Plant Manager where required.
