The review aimed to streamline care pathways, reduce fragmentation, and enhance the patient experience across the continuum of care. The review included broad, systematic and inclusive consultation with clinicians from across the precinct, patients and relevant peak bodies.The review achieved setting the strategy and future directions of the Breast Service and to establish a new leadership and governance structure. There are also 5 key recommendations aiming to: * Integrate Breast Services across the precinct: unifying breast cancer services into a single cohesive service to reduce care fragmentation and improve patient outcomes
- Streamline service provision: Standardising and centralising care processes and workflows across the precinct to ensure consistent and efficient patient care.
- Create optimal patient journeys: Adopting a patient-centred care model that prioritises individual needs and improves communication across healthcare providers.
- Foster supported workforce: Addressing staffing inconsistencies to ensure adequate resources and support for delivering high-quality care
- Strengthen the impact and quality of data: Enhancing data collection and analysis to inform evidence-based decisions and improve service quality
These recommendations aim to enhance patient experiences, improve clinical outcomes, and support the development of a world-class breast cancer service across the Parkville Precinct.
- Reporting to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Breast Services Clinical Director, the Project Manager role will utilise project management principles, problem solving and key stakeholder engagement skills to ensure the successful implementation of the recommendations.
- A strong understanding of the health system and hospital environment will be used to facilitate innovative thinking and the identification of opportunities to optimise service models, staff and patient experience and patient outcomes.
- The Project Manager role will work closely with the Deputy COO and Breast Services Clinical Director in prioritising next steps and developing a phased implementation plan, with a focus on integrating services, streamlining processes, and supporting the workforce to deliver person-centred care that is both innovative and evidence based.
- The position is fulltime and fixed term for 12 months.

- Tertiary level (Bachelor or higher) in Healthcare, Business, or related field.
- Competent computer literacy including standard Microsoft office software and MS 365 applications (Visio and MS Project beneficial).

- Strong understanding of and experience in the healthcare environment and health services/hospitals, including an understanding of health service delivery objectives.
- Significant demonstrated success in health management and/or project management, including hands-on project management leadership.
