Job description: Student Support Services assist children and young people facing a range of barriers achieve their educational and developmental potential. We do this through the provision of a range of strategies and specialised support at the individual, group, school and team level within a Department Area. As an SSS Clinician, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary Area-based team to build the capabilities of schools to support children and young people to engage in their education. The multidisciplinary Area-based teams consist of a broad range of Allied Health professionals including psychologists, speech pathologists, and/or social workers. SSS Clinicians provide comprehensive services to schools and schoolaged students to enhance developmental and learning outcomes, and support student health and wellbeing.Expert advice: You will be required to provide advice that will influence the development of teaching and learning strategies and student wellbeing programs for school leadership teams to embed in their practices.Communication: We are looking for someone with highly developed communication, networking and interpersonal skills as liaison with a range of people in the education community and beyond.Flexibility: The ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and the capability to work autonomously when required are key qualities we are looking for.Expert interventions and collaboration: You will have the ability to undertake advanced interventions that support students and schools, work collaboratively with other professionals on complex cases, including supporting teachers in the development of educational programs to improve student learning, particularly for students with additional needs.We can consider applicants from the below disciplines:
- Psychologist: A graduate or post-graduate qualification in psychology and full Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Speech Pathologist: A graduate or post-graduate degree in speech pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Social Worker: A graduate or post-graduate degree in social work or equivalent and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Job Location: This position is based in the Hume Merri-bek Area. There is a requirement to travel and visit schools as part of service delivery.
