The Occupational Therapy Department at Alfred HealthAlfred Health – Occupational Therapy Services operates across The Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham Hospitals, with clinical services aligned to Alfred Health strategic goals and operational performance targets. The RoleWe are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and skilled occupational therapist to provide high quality assessment and intervention to patients in a newly developed subacute ward based at the acute site, The Alfred. The Occupational Therapists will provide high-quality assessment and intervention to promote occupational performance, contribute to timely progression of care and facilitation of discharge pathways to home and the community for these patients. In this role, you will contribute to an interdisciplinary team approach to achieve optimal patient care. Grade 2 clinicians have an important role in leading various teaching/training and quality improvement activities across the Occupational Therapy Service, and will be responsible for the supervision and mentoring of junior Occupational Therapy staff, Allied Health Assistants and/or undergraduate students. This position may also extend to offer the unique opportunity of supporting sub-acute inpatient activity across other clinical areas and Alfred Health sites (Caulfield, Alfred, Sandringham). At Alfred Health, the Occupational Therapy service delivers a seven-day model of care. The incumbent in this position may be required to work one weekend shift on a periodic basis to assist progression of care and clinical service delivery at the acute site.Experience/Qualifications
- B. App Sc (OT), B. Occupational Therapy, MOT prac or recognised equivalent.
- Full Registration held with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in Occupational Therapy.
- Clinical experience and knowledge of client-centred, occupation-based practice within a subacute setting
- Experience working within an interdisciplinary team with highly profficient interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in supervision of junior staff or students is highly desirable
