TEG Life Like tours and experiences have been enjoyed by millions across Australia, New Zealand, North America, Europe, Africa, South America and the Middle East.The RoleThe Employee shall perform all services customarily rendered by the Lighting & Staging Supervisor of a first-class musical stage play (of the same quality and calibre as a Broadway/West End musical). Without limitation the following employee duties shall include:
- Advance of the tour, pre-production and planning adapting existing touring documentation for distribution to venues.
- Represent the Lighting Designer’s interests and intentions in executing the touring version of the Production.
- Liaise with tour venue representatives to ensure compliance with the technical rider in relation to equipment supply and venue readiness.
- Attend rehearsals and production meets ahead of the tour, familiarising yourself with the production and the touring staff.
- Consult with the Head of Production on touring equipment rider and suppliers.
- Prepare, test and pack the touring equipment.
- Ensure the safe transport of all touring equipment and systems, set and wardrobe elements.
- Loading/Unloading touring equipment at each venue, including assisting heads of other departments unloading their equipment.
- Oversee the install of production and stage elements, involving manual handling and working at heights.
- Supervise a crew of local technicians to implement the set and lighting designs, interfacing with venue systems and integrating touring equipment into the rig.
- Ensure faithful recreation of the lighting design at every touring venue, and liaise with venue personnel to guarantee both house and touring lighting systems are utilised in an optimum fashion.
- Coordinate the build and rigging of all scenic elements, including tab track, painted cloth, set carts and flats.
- Manage local floor crew and direct them in their duties.
- Oversee the integration and utilisation of all set electrics.
- Test all lighting cues, replotting where necessary to honour the execution of original design.
- Establish an operating position in each venue & operate theligh3ngsystems during the tour.
- Contribute to regular reports regarding the status of the tour, issues or looming equipment requirements or changes.
- Manage and maintain the touring set, props and equipment–identifying any maintenance or repair issues and rectifying these as required.

- Excellent knowledge of lighting system protocols and procedures, electrical safety, signal flow, and equipment configuration.
- Experience in theatrical scenography and rigging on similar large-scale productions, including familiarity with T60 tab track and scenic cloth rigging and operation
- Good knowledge of audio system protocols and procedures, signal flow, and equipment configuration
- Extensive experience operating a variety of lighting, audio and video equipment
- A working knowledge of QLab playback software
- Capable to carry out manual handling tasks and comfortable working at heights, and be able to lift 25kg loads unencumbered
- Previous experience leading and managing a team of crew and technicians
- Practical knowledge on the operation of various stage machinery and construc3on hand tools
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of “performance” etiquiette, including a comprehensive knowledge of theatre traditions, protocol and terminology
- Demonstrate an understanding of set, lighting and audio plans and documentation
- Possess a comprehensive general knowledge of electricity and safety procedures, testing and tagging and workplace safety protocols
- Exhibit excellent organisation and communication skills, written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to work with creative and technical personnel and performers
- Ability to work under pressure, using tact, diplomacy and flexibility
Preference will be given to candidates who hold a license to operate a motor vehicle. Candidates for this role must ensure that they are entitled to legally work in Australia, and proof of citizenship or eligibility may be requested.
