This role will specifically be working within the School of Psychology.About the role:The Lecturer, Education-focused Academic will lead unit teaching teams in UG and/or PG programs to improve the student learning experience and outcomes. The position will initiate, design and conduct productive, high-quality, scholarship and creative activities to enhance student experience and teaching learning outcomes in their discipline area.This Level B Lecturer position within the Master of Psychology (Organisational) program will have a strong teaching and learning focus. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in post graduate unit chairing and/or teaching and experience with competency-based learning and assessment. They will be required to supervise master’s level theses and demonstrate scholarly teaching practices in the discipline of organisational psychology. The applicant must be registered with Ahpra as a psychologist, have an endorsement in organisational psychology and Psychology Board of Australia supervisor status.As a Lecturer in Psychology, Education-focused, you will:

  • Lead unit teaching teams and work collaboratively with other unit teaching teams in the course to develop effective unit curricula and learning resources
  • Adopt innovation in curriculum design at the unit level and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels/modes of delivery. Maintain deep discipline knowledge which is applied to inform unit design
  • Develop effective assessment tasks and rubrics at the unit level. Provide clear assessment criteria and timely feedback to learners to demonstrate learning outcomes. Monitor and adapt assessment practices to improve learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrate emerging reputation in the scholarship of teaching and educational development through independent contribution to pedagogical research activity and publication in learning and teaching, including testing the effectiveness of innovations designed to improve student and graduate outcomes including graduate employment.
  • Assist in integrating new pedagogical research across all aspects of education.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
  • Registered psychologist (AHPRA) *Essential
  • Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in PG programs, including innovative curriculum design, competency-based authentic assessments and research supervision
  • Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning.
  • Ability to deliver effective teaching practices to improve student success and engagement.
