A Council member since 2022, Jacqui is the chief of MedCorp Technologies, a medical device company developing wearable monitoring and diagnostic technologies for the healthcare industry.
She is a board member for the influential Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and former board member of the Committee for Melbourne.
Jacqui takes over from Deb Radford, who has been Deputy Chancellor of La Trobe University since 2017 and a Council member since 2014.
La Trobe Chancellor John Brumby AO welcomed Jacqui’s appointment and thanked Deb for a stellar 11 years of service on the University Council.
“Deb has made a huge contribution to La Trobe, which will have long-standing benefits to the University for years to come. She has overseen more than a decade of significant progress and achievement, with a particular focus on our regional communities and opportunities for first in family students.
“Jacqui brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served on the boards of some of Melbourne’s most influential organisations, with her background in health and technology well aligned with two of La Trobe’s key areas of strength and focus. The Council is excited to continue this important work with the appointment of Jacqui as Deputy Chancellor.”
Deb was Chair of the University’s Foundation Committee, tasked with raising $200 million in philanthropy.
She has wide experience in business, particularly in the banking industry, consulting and government business enterprises.
Together with her husband Tony – an Officer of the Order of Australia, former CSIRO research scientist, founder of medical diagnostic company Cellestis Ltd and La Trobe distinguished Alumni – Deb established the Radford Foundation in 2012 to support higher education.
They have also provided generous financial support to the Second Chance Scholarship at La Trobe University.
