You could be one of our 3100 committed team members who are up to the challenge.About the roleAs the HSE Business Partner, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s People, Risk, Safety Sustainability Group.You will be responsible for assisting the Head Safety Support to facilitate a high standard of HSE management and compliance to standards across the program’s portfolio of projects.This will involve providing onsite specialist advice, technical support and development of safety standards and procedures across the organisation including incident investigation, hazard management and audit tasks as required.The role will focus on occupational health and safety but will also be involved in rail safe-working, health and wellbeing management.You can be based Regional or Melbourne.Key accountabilities include:Act as a change agent for HSE risk, developing strategies, monitoring the implementation of change and working with stakeholders to make adjustments to the plan as required.Assist with implementation of V/Line’s safety strategy, and establish frameworks, programs, policies and plans that will align with strategic objectives in accordance with V/Lines overall safety strategy.Provide strategic direction for supporting business unit / region based on local risk profile.Work collaboratively and professionally with management and stakeholders across the organisation to build safety capability and ensure a strategically aligned approach to the management of workplace safety and risk management.Identify and manage HSE risks as per V/Line processes through auditing, investigations and incident response as required.Update and ensure HSE documentation are compliant with current legislation, of good quality and communicated to the local business.Identify high risk tasks and evaluate the effectiveness of controls. Assist in facilitating the development of issue specific and systemic treatment strategies and programs for the management of HSE risk, including participation in special projects and risk assessments.Monitor the effectiveness of treatment applications by conducting analysis, process review, audits, inspections and task observations.Provide guidance and assistance to the relative business unit in the management of Provisional Improvement NoticesPerform on-call duties with a frequency of no more than a 1 in 4 weeks unless otherwise agreedAbout youOur ideal candidate will possess the following:Experience in building strong people relationships (both internal and external)Strong working knowledge of OH&S legislation and Rail or Construction industry standards.Certificate IV in WHS (desirable)Experience in investigation, auditing and risk assessment involvement (desirable)Tertiary qualification in Health and Safety (desirable) or relevant Rail business experience.If your skills or experience don’t exactly match our listed requirements, we still encourage you to apply.
