Maurice Blackburn, experience you can count on.About the roleWe are looking for a Float Legal Assistant to join our Medical Negligence and Dust Teams on a full-time, permanent basis. Based in our Melbourne office, this role will suit candidates looking to make their mark within the Firm whilst helping everyday Australians. This role will be a shared resource for both our Medical Negligence and Dust teams.Key Responsibilities:
- Answer all incoming client enquiries and assist or transfer calls where appropriate
- Provide accurate updates and information to clients within a timely manner and manage expectations
- Manage the administration of all client files from open to close
- Produce client correspondence and prepare court documents as requested
- Arrange and manage diaries, appointments and meetings
- Action all incoming mail
- Prepare bills for clients
- Any other generalist administrative tasks as requested

- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to liaise with internal and external clients
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritise and work under pressure
