Committed to public safety and operational excellence, it focuses on effective resource management and sustainable service delivery.Job DescriptionThe Finance Business Analyst role will lead on-
- Support the Senior Business Analyst in improving systems, processes, and team capability to enhance customer service in financial analysis, costing, partnering, and performance.
- Assist in monthly financial performance reporting, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial planning for Senior Management and the Executive Leadership Team.
- Monitor and deliver forecast, budget, and cashflow cycles using contemporary management accounting techniques to ensure financial sustainability.
- Contribute to an integrated process for financial outputs within business cases, including implementation planning, resource allocation, and funding opportunities.
- Assist in costing services to support government outcomes and legislative requirements, including business case reviews and funding proposals.
- Identify and drive business improvements through complex financial investigations and recommend solutions to support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with finance business partners to develop a strong customer-focused culture and provide financial expertise, advice, and training.
- Assist in managing the FBT return, providing recommendations to minimise FBT liability, and reviewing WorkSafe Remuneration Levy Certificates.
- Support analysis and financial partnering, including responding to internal and external stakeholder queries, audit requests, and ad-hoc reporting tasks.
The Successful ApplicantThe ideal Finance Business Analyst will meet the below criteria-
- CPA/CA Qualified or an equivalent qualification
- Finance Analysis & Decision-Making – Utilise data and information to assess issues, evaluate options, and make informed decisions through clear, rational thinking.
- Attention to Detail – Ensure accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks, maintaining a high standard of work.
- Accountability & Ownership – Take responsibility for delivering high-quality work on time, demonstrating reliability with minimal supervision.
- Customer Focus – Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring satisfaction with financial services and support.
- Managing Multiple Priorities – Organise and manage complex tasks effectively, balancing competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Verbal Communication – Clearly convey information to individuals and groups, tailoring messages to the audience while actively listening and responding effectively.
- Written Communication – Produce clear, concise, and well-structured written materials suited to the complexity of topics and the audience’s level of understanding.
What’s on OfferThe Finance Business Analyst role is located in Melbourne CBD. The company offer flexible working (3/2 split in the office). The salary for this role is between $100,000- $110,000 base + super + 1 RDO per month
Expected salary: $100000 – 110000 per year
