About the RoleThe STAY (Supporting Tenants At Yarra) Program is a collaborative approach to support the public housing tenants/residents living in the City Of Yarra who are at risk of losing their tenancy, have unidentified mental health needs or are experiencing a deterioration in mental health.As the Community Development Worker, you will draw upon evidenced informed community development theory and approaches to develop, implement and evaluate consumer, carer and community engagement strategies across the STAY program and community services. You will work in collaboration with STAY, local Housing Offices, the tenants of local public housing properties and relevant services to develop community education, social connections, therapeutic groups, events and capacity building initiatives.You will have the necessary skills to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team, build and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, design and facilitate community group initiatives and activities and support access to community services.Classifications for this position will be Occupational Therapist Grade 1 or Social Worker Grade 1 YB13 – YB19 or YC35 – YC41 ($64,771 – $87,989 per annum pro rata)Your Contribution
- Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy or Social Work
- Experience or knowledge in the Public Housing sector
- Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of strategies that will increase the availability and accessibility to a range of community support services.
- Experience in networking and establishing relationships to facilitate consultation and collaboration between consumers, community groups, government and non-government bodies etc.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain
- A current Victorian driver’s licence
