About the Role
Join a dynamic research team and contribute to the Co-Designing Inclusive Bicycle Motocross (BMX) Spaces project. This initiative seeks to develop evidence-based guidelines that enhance the accessibility and inclusivity of BMX spaces for riders with disabilities. In this role, you will support the implementation and evaluation of the research, including ethics and governance processes, participant recruitment, data collection, and analysis. You will engage closely with stakeholders across education, sport, disability advocacy, allied health, and government sectors, ensuring that the project remains aligned with the lived experiences and priorities of BMX riders with disabilities. Your contributions will inform impactful recommendations, shaping more inclusive BMX environments and fostering broader participation in the sport.Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting and supporting research activities, including participant recruitment, data collection, qualitative interviews, follow-up assessments, and maintaining data integrity in accordance with study protocols.
- Coordinating project governance and stakeholder engagement, liaising with research teams, partner organisations, and the BMX community to ensure the project aligns with lived experiences and priorities.
- Facilitating the dissemination of research findings, contributing to conference presentations, peer-reviewed publications, and other communications while upholding high standards of ethics and integrity.
- Contributing to team collaboration and professional development, participating in project meetings, staff training, and initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion, and occupational health and safety.
Who We Are Looking For
You are an empathetic and collaborative professional with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building and maintaining meaningful relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Committed to ethical practice, diversity, and inclusion, you bring an open and reflective approach to engaging with lived experiences, ensuring that the voices of BMX riders with disabilities remain at the heart of the project.You also have:
- A tertiary qualification, professional accreditation, or an equivalent combination of relevant study and work experience in a related field.
- Experience conducting effectiveness or implementation research, including participant engagement, data collection, and analysis.
- Knowledge and experience within the education and/or disability sectors, with an understanding of inclusive practices.
- Strong ability to collaborate with internal and external partners, ensuring effective communication and project coordination.
