The financial services team is accountable for strategy development and execution, working with our banking and mortgage broker partners to build our capability and product offerings, leading sales management and engaging across the other lines of business in REA. We currently run a full-service mortgage broking business in Mortgage Choice and our vision is to provide the highest quality brokerage business that is professional, values driven and leverages REA’s unique property advantage to provide quality advice to consumers.As the Broker Monitoring & Advice Manager, you will manage the Compliance Monitoring program which includes Compliance Education across the Mortgage Choice business. You will also work closely with the broader Broker Monitoring & Advice team to understand changes to the regulatory environment and Mortgage Choice policies for inclusion in the Monitoring Program, common findings from Complaints & Investigations for inclusion in coaching and education and share the findings of the review program to formulate and deliver appropriate strategies to uplift the compliance and quality of our Credit Representatives.What the role is all aboutDeliver Risk Based Monitoring Program to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, primarily NCCP Act including Best Interest Duty, Corporations Act, Privacy Act, Competition and Consumer ActIdentify gaps through proactive and reactive monitoring to develop and deliver one to one and group training to build competence in the areas of compliance with applicable legislation, primarily NCCP Act including Best Interest Duty, Corporations Act, Privacy Act, Competition and Consumer ActWork with internal stakeholders to Identify and recommend training strategies for key operational changes to process, policies or regulatory requirements (specifically the lending submission file review processes) for the Mortgage Choice network. Work with internal teams to oversee implementation of agreed process or framework changes as requiredFoster a continuous improvement culture within the team to drive efficiencies and improve customer (broker) experienceActively demonstrate and champion a growth mindset that considers long term strategic direction of the business and circulates that mindset through the team to optimise current processes and ways of workingEnsure active collaboration is achieved between the crossover in review outcomes, remediation activities training and coaching with the Learning & Development and Lending Services teamsLead, guide and develop team members to maximise performance and attainment of outcomesWho we’re looking forMinimum 5+ years Compliance and Risk experience within a financial services organisation, ideally with residential lending and/or mortgage broking related experience, or Australian Credit Licence managementMinimum Tertiary qualifications in a related business discipline, or Certificate IV or Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking and extensive experience in monitoring and training of representatives under an Australian Credit Licence and/or Australian Financial Services LicenceWorking knowledge of the legislative regimes that underpin mortgage broking and the provision of credit advice with the ability to translate Regulatory requirements into practice and process, as well as ensure these can be understood at all levelsWell-developed leadership, coaching and facilitating capabilities demonstrated in previous rolesStrong presentation skills with the ability to present to large groups, and industry events such as Professional Development daysDemonstrated ability to apply strategic and commercially orientated problem-solving skills, and sound professional judgement in complex situations, along with demonstrated initiative and strong decision-making skillsExperience managing offshore teamsThe REA experienceThe physical, mental, emotional and financial health of our people is something we’ll never stop caring about.
