Job description:

  • Rotating roster which will include weekend work and starts from 5am or finishing as late as 11pm.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews department profit and loss statement. Develops and implements sales and merchandising plan for department.
  • Schedules, develops, counsels, trains, and directs department personnel. Makes recommendations for hiring, promotion, and termination to Warehouse Manager. Reviews and approves area timecards. Drafts and participates in presentation of employee performance evaluations.
  • Observes employees to ensure proper departmental production procedures and standards are followed. Checks quality and consistency of finished product.
  • Determines production requirements and participates in baking product. Oversees product presentation and merchandising.
  • Implements and upholds safety and security procedures. Ensures health code compliance, such as monitoring of sanitation, temperatures, pull dates.
  • Provides and ensures prompt and courteous member service. Coordinates proper maintenance and repairs for machinery, equipment, and implements.
  • Physically does inventory approves and submits periodically (13 times per year). Approves and submits orders to buying office for equipment, product, and supplies.

Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines while working independently with minimal supervision. Maintains a commitment to honesty, integrity, and high levels of efficiency and accuracy at all times. Accepts responsibility for his/her choices and decisions.
  • Team Player – Relates well with a variety of personalities and individuals by participating in a professional manner to accomplish the business goal. Empowers and leads employees. Creates positive morale by recognising conflict and working quickly to solve problems. Delegates responsibilities effectively. Willingness to perform any task that needs to be done and to help others perform their tasks as needed.
  • Flexibility – Adjusts positively to change in direction or assignment. Is able to focus on multiple tasks during a work shift. Responds professionally to constructive criticism from management. Adjusts work schedule as necessary to meet business needs. Is able to implement and oversee newly initiated Costco programs.
  • Record of Satisfactory Job Performance – Demonstrates satisfactory job performance in a position of leadership as indicated on the most recent review through positive demonstration of Costco’s Success Behaviours, and by a file free from counselling notices related to job performance. Has a proven history of leadership/management ability.
