A great opportunity for an experienced Policy Manager or Assistant Director of Policy to join for a busy government team for a 12-month period.About the role:

  • Lead, develop and interpret key policy in relation to sensitive and political topics
  • Develop and manage projects to deliver to the agency as a whole
  • Prepare and contribute to complex policy frameworks for review and publication
  • Plan and lead engagement activities
  • Data analysis
  • Stakeholder engagement at all levels across the organisation to ensure the policy is contemporary, relevant and evidence informed
  • Prepare and review policy reports, briefing papers, speeches, ministerial correspondence, and submission papers

About you:

  • You will have a strong background in developing and clearly communicating balanced, and complex policy and strategic advice, within a large and complex government organisation
  • You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex operational challenges.
  • You will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
  • You will have previous experience in leading and managing projects, data analysis, and performance measurement, and people management
  • You will ideally have experience working with policy relating to disability, social policy, or social insurance policy.

Benefits:

  • ASAP start (pending Federal Police Clearance)
  • Temporary casual assignment for 12 months
  • Full time hours Monday to Friday
  • Locations- Melbourne, Geelong and Sydney
  • $602.55 per day + super/$80.34 per hour + super
