Job description: The opportunity exists for an Asset Protection Officer to join a Council located in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne on an initial 4 week contract.Employed as an Asset Protection Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Inspection of works to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and council policies
- Investigation & resolution of any breaches of legislation and policies
- Issuing of infringement notices
- Issuing vehicle crossing permits.
- Ensuring health & safety standards are upheld
- Supervising works & construction of municipal infrastructure.
As the ideal candidate you will have/be:
- A degree in Civil Engineering, or relevant experience/qualifications
- A Civil Engineer with experience in issuing permits within a local government organisation
- Experience conducting asset protection inspections
- A solid understanding of Local Government procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A current driver’s license
