The Role
Air Training Systems Program Office (ATSPO) is currently looking for a Commercial professional to fill an APS 6 Commercial Support position located at the RAAF Base in East Sale or Defence Plaza Melbourne (CBD).The APS 6 Commercial Support position reports to the Commercial Manager, who is responsible for the provision of commercial, contracting and procurement advice and support into commercial strategies, development of Approach to Market documentation, conduct of procurement including evaluation, negotiation and probity support as well as commercial support in relation to contract management issues and risks. You will be responsible for the coordination and management of specialist advice and guidance.The position is responsible for a range of complex commercial, financial, procurement and contract management activities to ensure compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes and procedures. The role works within a multi-faceted work area, therefore excellent communication, the provision of advice, direction, assistance and services for procurement policy, technical, commercial, legal, financial investigation and other requirements to support contract management outcomes is required.This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. The position requires a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and negotiation skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will have significant contract management experience and a strong understanding of and/or experience in procurement and finance.Candidates will require a strong ability to resolve competing priorities, manage resource dependencies and work with senior leaders to deliver strategic outcomes. You will be experienced in working with multi discipline teams and maintaining constructive cross team communication as well as having the ability to manage a high workload with minimal supervision.
- Deliver ongoing commercial support to ATSPO staff in the development and delivery of commercial arrangements and projects
- Provide ongoing support for the SPO’s commercial Governance and Assurance outcomes
- Work as part of a team of commercial resources to meet operational capability requirements
- Assist in ATSPO commercial strategic planning
- Develop and maintain enterprise stakeholder relationships
- Collaboratively manage and resolve contract risks and issues as well as identifying opportunities and bringing together Defence and Industry partners in the focus of capability requirements is integral to the role
- Possess a high level of commercial knowledge and experience, with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement to deliver outcomes in a complex and technical environment.
Expected salary: $95187 – 108734 per year
