Our determination to deliver and improve today and anticipate and shape tomorrow, makes QinetiQ a very exciting, rewarding and respected place to work and learn.We currently have an immediate requirement for an experienced Aerodrome Certification Engineer to support the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA). This critical role involves working across defence aerodromes nationwide, supporting aerodrome and heliport certification. Join us to take on a range of high-priority projects that are essential to maintaining the safety and compliance of defence aviation operations.This role will see you involved in:
- Certification Assessment: Conduct and support the certification of land-based and ship-borne aerodromes, including evaluating certification products and compliance evidence.
- Regulatory Guidance: Assist Aerodrome Operators in developing Aerodrome Operating Intent, Certification Basis, and compliance documentation.
- Policy and Standards Monitoring: Track CASA and ICAO regulatory practices, propose updates, and develop change packages for approved policies.
- Manual and Documentation Updates: Support the review and update of the Defence Aviation Safety Design Requirements Manual (DASDRM).
- Tools and Knowledge Development: Create promotional materials, templates, and guides to streamline the certification process and support corporate knowledge retention.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Knowledge and understanding of Aerodrome design and construction, and systems and processes for aerodrome facilities inspections and management.
- Knowledge and understanding of Aerodrome certification requirements, including DASR or CASR Part 139 – Aerodromes.
- Tertiary Engineering Qualification
- Experience in one of the following or a related field: aerodrome engineer, aerodrome electrical engineer, aerodrome ground lighting specialist, pavement engineer, or survey engineer.
