The RoleIn this new role, you’ll collaborate with Metro and Regional teams to deliver impactful stories, investigations, and event coverage across multiple platforms. You’ll support the State Editor and Deputy Editor with planning and logistics while helping drive strategic changes to enhance our storytelling and audience engagement.The Job
- Inspire state-based investigative reporters for maximum story impact.
- Drive high-impact reporting in the Vic News team.
- Collaborate with Vic News leaders to ensure coordinated content rollout.
- Provide planning and logistics support for major events.
- Oversee community engagement events and content collaboration.
- Lead multi-platform news planning for impactful, relevant stories.
- Manage newsroom staff, set goals, assist with recruitment, and train new hires.
- Generate diverse stories reflecting Australia’s cultural and socio-economic landscape.
Position Description:About YouYou are a seasoned Editor with senior-level journalism experience in News/Current Affairs and expertise in managing editorial and production functions. You will have a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams and are passionate about representing Australia’s cultural diversity. You also have great ideas, excellent organisation and planning skills and the ability to create coverage plans for breaking news and large events.You’ll also have:
- Skills in leading accurate and legally sound investigations
- Excellent planning and logistics management
- Strong collaboration skills for developing shared editorial priorities
- Leadership and communication expertise in news programming
- Strong knowledge about Victorian News
