Job title: Policy Officer (Offshore Wind Transmission)

Job description: The Policy Officer oversees the integration and delivery of transmission infrastructure for offshore wind, ensuring project milestones are met in accordance with established timelines. This position involves liaising with VicGrid on the development of transmission infrastructure as well as contributing to oversight of the transmission Client Requirement Document (CRD).In addition, the Policy Officer will assist in shaping offshore wind (OSW) policy settings, focusing on access arrangements, connections, and connection coordination. This position is essential in supporting the smooth implementation of offshore wind projects, ensuring they align with Victoria’s broader energy objectives
- Prepare policy papers, presentations, submissions, correspondence, reports and briefs for senior management and Executive that provide options for decision making at the Ministerial and Executive level
- Coordinate and provide comprehensive support for multiple activities, effectively managing competing priorities to ensure that all tasks are completed on time. Utilise strong organizational and time-management skills to streamline processes, allocate resources efficiently, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Understanding of Victorian and/or national energy markets, systems and frameworks; electricity transmission networks; and familiarly with renewable energy trends is highly desirable
- Experience developing regulatory, operational and commercial agreements is desirable.
- Formal qualifications in economics, commerce, law, or energy or utility systems and regulation are desirable
This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2027.
