We come to you with a heartfelt story of resilience and strength, a story that requires the warmth and compassion of our community.
Meet Jesse, a brave 7-year-old who has faced challenges from the very start of his life. Jesse was born with an underlying genetic brain malformation, leading to quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. This condition has left him profoundly weak, necessitating constant care and attention.
Jesse’s daily life revolves around the need for specialized care – lifting, transfers, wheelchair assistance, bathing, feeding, and medication management are just a few aspects of the comprehensive support he requires. Due to his condition, Jesse’s safety is a paramount concern, demanding high levels of supervision both day and night.
Adding to this already challenging situation is the fact that Jesse’s devoted mother, Stacey, who is the sole caregiver for Jesse and his 15-year-old brother Terence, has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Stacey now faces an uphill battle, requiring extended chemotherapy and multiple surgeries. Her medical team has advised her against lifting anything heavier than 1kg. Considering Jesse’s weight of 19kg, it becomes clear that Stacey’s ability to provide the necessary care for Jesse is severely compromised.
Stacey’s own health challenges, coupled with Jesse’s complex care needs, have placed an enormous burden on this family. As Stacey undergoes multiple surgeries for cancer management, the family is confronted with the reality that they will require 24-hour in-home support for Jesse’s care.
In this time of profound difficulty, Enosi Association Inc. has stepped forward to organize a fundraising event with the support of our community. It is an opportunity for us to come together and make a difference in Jesse’s life, providing the financial assistance necessary to ensure that he receives the care and support he so desperately needs.
